Just purchased a trickflow intake and trying to find out what this pipe is on the old lower and if I need it on the new one.

What's the pipe in lower intake?

that is for the heater core..
the front side goes to your water pump and the rear goes to heater core
the front side goes to your water pump and the rear goes to heater core
if you want to bypass your heater core..

Bypass the heater core....Great Scott Batman ...What Now??? I did that same thing during the summer time with my 96 Grand Marquis with the 4.6.... It had the electric HVAC controls and it always blew warm air out the foot wells unless the A/C was on...That solved the problem....

That's what I figured it was for. Is there a specific name for it? I want to get a newer one since everything else is new on my engine.
It's called a heater tube or heater tube assembly.

And to remove the heater tube you loosen the bottom hex closest to the manifold. It will spin inside the top part of the hard lines.
