I've had this 86 Mustang LX for about five years now and I'm finally getting around to getting it restored ,somewhat .she's going to be back from the paint booth by the end of the week and I will be ordering some wheels and tires. I've seen several different sizes and options I'd like to put 17 x 10 inch rims on the back and 17 by 8 on the front (I'm not sure on back space either so please help)I'd like to stuff as much rubber as I can in the rear. So if you guys can suggest me a size that will fit. I would like them to stick out just a little bit. It has a Ken Brown racing suspension on it with Lakewood ladder bars in the back and it sits a little lower than stock.with four lug set up.if you could post a pic of yours that would be awesome!thanks(the pic at the bottom is what I'm trying to achieve)

It looks like this after a lot of fabricating and a 17x15 fits easily inside the fender

Thanks for being the coolest guy on these forums.no body else has the time to mess with a newb.after I paid my painter reality set in that I can't afford rims and the holidays too.my better half is already calling me a self centered a -hole.so it looks like just rubber on my stock wheels for now.theres not much available in wide 16" tires.i found these bfgoodrich g force.my buddy at work has 255/60-15 on his 92 and the 255/50-16 are just a lil smaller but are wider.do you by chance have any experience with trying to get the best fitment for rear 16 inch-10"wide?thanks again and I think ur car is bad a-s!

I would think you can find decent tires in the 275, 295 x 40 series in 16"
I tried 315x35 and they were a skosh too wide for the 10" wheel.

I'm retired, but work full time to support my car hobby... Cuz the wife said so.
