Hi, had an 86 LX 4 banger years ago, looking at an 88 GT convertible. 1 owner, traded in. Looks stock minus this: aftermarket struct brace mounting bracket maybe?

Sorta looks like castor adjustment plate.
Not sure, just guessing on the rivet holes.

What would that have been for? A + tire fitment?

Car looks totally stock otherwise

I wonder if a tweaked unibody?

Its possible the previous owner wanted to change how the car "turns in" in corners.
Or that plate may have offered more negative camber.
It almost appears factory. Its ugly, not nicely finished as an aftermarket piece would bling.

Thank you for the input. Records do not indicate any accident history, but that is only if it was reported...

Welcome to the group! Those are factory camber plates. They don't offer much in the way of adjustment, but you shouldn't need it unless you plan on front suspension upgrades like lowering springs, 5-lug swap, etc.
