Many of you may have heard of DECH motorsport up here in Toronto, Canada. Its been said that Derek Hanson was the "Steve Saleen of Canada". Unfortunately Derek lost his fight with cancer on July 27, 2020 at the age of 78. Derek wasn't only an influence on the mustang scene, but all motorsports in Canada, later moving on to work at BMW and Ferrari. His son Peter, runs the Hanson International Driving school 4 times a year at Toronto Motorsports Park as well as being an accomplished driver himself. I'm lucky to have met Derek and have owned a DECH mustang for quite a while now. The car still snaps necks both on the street AND on the track. Im happy to have been a part of this lesser known Canadian motorsports history!
