Battery Terminal End Bolt Size 89 Mustang

Hello, I had to undo the positive battery cable when I replaced the starter solenoid on my 89 Mustang and I lost the bolt for the terminal end. I went and bought a battery terminal end bolt at AutoZone which was a 5/16 size and it was too thick to fit into my terminal. If anyone knows what size it will be it would be appreciated
