I've got a 92 GT Convert. and Speedo is reading about 5 - 8 miles over actual speed. A few years back the Speedo needle would bounce at highway speeds. I've had the Cable replaced. Check the vin numbers and ordered correct speedo gears and speed sensor. It doesnt bounce anymore but it's reading above true speed. As far as I know this is the factory driveline (Factory 5spdTrans and rearend). The origianl speedometer cable had a small metal box in middle with a couple gears but didn't look to be and change in ratio going on inside the box. replacement cable from Ford Dealership was one solid cable. Has anyone else experienced this? thanks for any help with this!
