Sounds like a fuel pump issue, buy or borrow a fuel pressure gauge and check the pressure at the fuel rail Schrader valve (Looks like a tire valve stem) which on my 90 is just behind the alternator. Be careful as gas can easily ignite from any spark or heat source. Seldom is a clogged fuel filter the problem but if its never been changed, its a good place to start. it will allow pressure to build but will not let it flow enough to run the engine. The pump is in the tank and is time consuming but with even a cheap repair manual is doable, once again, keep in mind flammability and that gas weighs about 7 pound per gallon so if your tank is full, it's going to be heavy. Please keep all safety factors in mind like use proper jack stands on a level surface.
