This is mine the day I saved it. I got it home and it's eagerly awaiting restoration. Unfortunately, I cant really start until I get my 88 GT road worthy.

I can't believe my 82gt that I posted in 2014 is still sitting in my garage waiting lol! Actually, I can't really say I haven't done anything to it. I did build a 408w for it and collect a ton of parts. At one point, I gave the car to a buddy. He did some cleaning and painting to the undercarriage, repaired some minor rust in one front frame rail, and a few other things. Then, I ended up trading him my restored/running/driving 88gt and reclaiming the 82gt. While he had it, I built a new 800 sq ft garage. I've been working on other projects and currently, the 82 is pretty much last in line.

Here, you can see the 82gt at the far end of the garage. They're lined up in order of when I'm getting to them. I've been working on this old Honda cb550 the last few weeks. I also did a ton of work to the new (to me) pace car. I got some body work done to the cobra behind it, along with painting the engine bay. I'll get around to the 82 eventually. I just bought this one back. I bought it new in 1982 as my first new car. Sold it to my brother in law a few years later who sold it to the local District Attorney. Long story short, he passed away a few years ago and the car had been sitting for 18+ years in his garage. A chance meeting with his father and him telling about his sons car led me to realize it was my old car. I was able to buy it back a few months ago and have been bringing it all back to life again.

They had painted it, installed some Mustang Recaro's, rebuilt the engine at some point and added an Edelbrock head/cam/intake/carb package and headers to it along with a new Tremec 5 speed to replace the original SROD. I got it running in about 30 minutes. I've replaced fuel tank, pump, alternator, cleaned up some wiring and a bunch of small details. New headliner too.

They told me of the time the 16 year old brother of the DA drove it for the first time and looped it on a sidesreet and tagged a curb which tweaked the axle flange. Yep..it still had a wobble. A buddy had a 8.8 out of a GT so I installed it with a new set of 4.10's installed along with the quad-shocks and new speedo gear.

I found a set of Cobra wheels/tires to replace the factory 14" combo. Looks a lot better to me.

Most recently, I found the 50 year old Holley 750 double pumper I had installed on it in 1982 with a Torker intake. When I sold the car I had installed the 2BBL back on it. I removed the Edelbrock 600 CFM carb and put the old Holley back "home" after a good rebuild. It runs killer!

I'm having fun with the car my daughter came home from the hospital in! BTW- I had later bought a new '88 LX 5.0 and she was the first to ride in it home from the dealership. Back in March I completed getting it painted and running great and gave it to her...she drives it every day and loves it!
