1990 Mustang lx 5.0

If your talking about the actual steering wheel itself check the column bolts? There's two that hold the mechanism on inside the column, I don't mean the one bolt behind the horn. These bolts work themselves loose and need tightening, I believe it's a 13 mm.
Take off the column cover and look from the right side, and move the wheel, you'll see where things are moving and where they're not.
