Hello all....I'm new member here with my just recently purchased 86 GT with 98k miles unmolested and very little rust hoping to get it in shape by next summer had repair the original seats and deal with some cooling issues so far hope to get some good information here and comummity

Nice car! I had a friend in 1986 that bought one same color new. He was inspired by my 1982 GL. Hope you have fun on the restoration!
 
How did you deal with the cooling issue? That seems to be one that plagues a lot of folks. Are you planning on any future mods?

Sorry for late reply ....I initially changed the thermostat and started to run cooler during in sub 80 degree temps weather wise , anything over 85 to 90 it will over heat in traffic. Found the problem was the clutch fan and replaced clutch and purchased a LMR SVE three core radiator .
I did ton mods and parts replacements starting dreaded heater core( good thing I took interior out to repair the seats) replace the front brakes with new Powerstop vented and drilled rotors ,new calipers , replaced all the lines wheel cylinders EBC red pads up font replaced the Master cylinders and rebuilt the combination valve ...New control arms and 1.50 lowering springs .Replaced leaking steering rack
