What did you do to or with your Mustang today?

I had a friend in Sacramento who owned a Capri with the TRX wheels, he opted to go with the 16" reproduction TRX wheels and tires. He said that upfront it cost a couple hundred more but in the long run would be less expensive. Did you polish your originals or did you have them done? They looked great.

I stripped them with Citrus Strip, then rubbed them down with fine steel wool. Finally I polished them with White Dimond. I wipe them down before every cruise

Was that a hand or mechanical polish, My 65 has 5 slot mags with some sort of clear coat that is just starting to fail after about 10 years so I will probably have to do the same as you did. Thank you for the info.

The Citrus Strip will take the clear coat off. It’s a non-toxic chemical stripper used for furniture but its worked great on my wheels. Mine had turned the wheels yellow. The steel wool was the most fine you can get and I had worked that. The White Dimond polish is a liquid and I used a foam polishing ball on a drill. I tried to stay very easy on them until I could see what it was going to do to them. Try a small area on the inside of the wheel before you go hog wild on the outside.
