transmission problems

I just joined the forum and I just bought a 92 lx recently. When I first take the car out it drives pretty good then 5 minutes down the road after it warms up, the tranny starts slipping like crazy. I'll be at a dead stop and be reving it completely and it won't move. It eventually starts creeping forward and then I get rolling. Does anyone know what this problem is??

Is it an automatic or stick? Sounds like a clutch problem..

Torque converter is shot. Probably broke a sprague or something.

Is it leaking tranny fluid after its warmed up? To me it sounds like you have a pressure bleed off once the fluid is heated up and moving through the tranny. Are you having to keep adding fluid to it?
