i recently purchased an 88 GT hatchback, and ended up buying an 82 GT off the guy, too.
Well, I found out today that it was originally a 4 spd. The clutch pedal is still there. The guy had put a new (used) 302 in it with c4 tranny. It still needs everything hooked up, but I spoke to him today and he said it can easily be put back to standard. The clutch pedal is under the carpet.
I was happy to hear this and I'm going to plan on eventually putting a 5 spd in it. Very cool, if you ask me!
