Ring gap specs 5.0

New Member
Ive got a 97 explorer 5.0 motor im rebuilding. Has cylinders that are still good to go but im replacing the rings . Their factory hyperutectic pistons . My question is what is the ring gap specs for these pistons ? I cant for the life of me find any info on this. Top ring , second ring and oil rings. Does anyone know what they are supposed to be ?

You have the block wide open, and you don't think its worth time, effort, money to get the block cleaned and machined back to flat deck, with round cylinders and lifter bores?
Just a suggestion to think over while you're there...
