I re-painted the spokes and put a leather wrap on my original 1982 3 spoke sport steering wheel. Turned out pretty good

I actually used krylon grill high heat paint. I baked it in the oven for 15 minutes at 170 deg. I bought the leather wrap kit off Amazon for $16.00.

Well, that's brilliant. I'm about to do the same treatment to another car (77 Fiat 124), and I think I'll borrow your Krylon grill paint idea. :)

Well I hope it works well for you. I need you polish mine before I use it too much. I applied 3 coats, lightly sanded between. I did an outboard engine cowl last year and it turned out fantastic. See before and after pictures

That turned out great! I was looking at those covers on Amazon (I'm guessing it's the same). In fact, we got one for the wife's old work car. I wasn't sure what size to order for these old fox steering wheels. You mind sharing? I have 2 of these wheels I'd like to fix up.

The cover was a Belinous real leather kit. See pictures. The size of mine put me buying am M2 on the chart. I used a baseball stitch and make sure you pull it tight. Work your way around and keep it tight. I had to really work the stitch around the spokes using a dummy stitch on the front. Let me know if you have any other questions.
