No electricals working

Hello,
I recently bought a 1988 Ford mustang 5.0 at a Richie Bros auction sale.
The vehicle was listed in having a bad fuel pump but when i put a battery in i get now power anywhere in the car, no lights, no radio, nothing
before i start pulling apart the electrical system i was wondering if any of you knew of a common issue that can cause this,

Thanks,
Ben

Congratulations on the purchase! The positive side of the battery is routed to the starter relay (aka "solenoid" on the inner fender). From there, you should be able to trace power using a meter or 12v light tester. There could be a bad connection there at the relay, or coming out of the relay through the fusible link. This is, of course, presuming you have a good ground from the negative side of the battery.
