hood clearance

I have built a 347 stroker motor for my 1986 Gt. I want to know if my stock hood will fit with taller valve covers and the Edelbrock Performer 2 upper and lower intakes? I have heard I need a spacer for intakes to clear the valve covers but I don't want to change my hood.

I believe the problem is that the taller valve covers will require a spacer to lift the plenum up.... which is where you run into hood clearance issues. It depends on what valve covers you're using, I believe. The "slant" style covers are made to clear the upper plenum.
