'93 Ford Mustang 2.3 auto 124k miles working to swap in a 351W and auto
presently working on head work and cam selection.
hoping to install a C-6 with a mild build.
Everything to learn. Looking forward to finding out what I need to do

Forgot to ask you... why are you going with the c6 as opposed to c4? The c4 will hold plenty of torque for even a fairly hot 351w and it's more efficient (more power to the wheels). The c6 is pretty bulletproof, though... and you'd have more room for adding power later on. A c4 will need some upgrades once you start making real power.

I'm asking because I'm currently trying to decide what transmission to use in my 86 coupe with 408w (stroked 351w). I have a rebuilt c4 already and plan on making 400+ on motor with a shot of juice on top of that. My other option was a 4r70w, which would be nice to take advantage of the overdrive for the occasional highway trip. But it starts getting expensive with the electronic controller.
