Factory electric fan

Fan and temperature guage not working. Fuse is good. Could the sending unit cause this? Figured there should be some kind of relay to power fan from sensor. Can anyone help where to look? 1989 2.3

Relay is under driver side dash to the left... It's a multi function relay. Thing there's a way to put standard relays in with some wiring... The sender and sensor are driver side of engine either both in the block or one in block and one in intake...
