Auto Shifter Handle Removal

Hello All

I own a 1989 LX Convertible with an automatic trans. I need to remove the shifter handle in order to repair the silver button that get pressed when putting in and out of park. Any ideas on how to remove this handle. I do not see any set screws and it does not seem to twist off.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

REMOVAL Automatic with T handle

Engage the emergency brake, put it in first, push the button and pull really hard. Be careful not to hit yourself lol

The auto just pulls off. Put it in first since its better angle, emergency brake on since it could roll and pull away! it probably will take some effort.
