347 stroker distributor selection

I just purchased a 347 stroker for my hatch and the guy I bought it from says it has a ford racing cam, didn’t give me a part number or specs, and it came without a distributor. Any idea on what type of distributor gear I need for a ford racing cam? I don’t want to put the wrong one in a ruin the cam. Thx guys.

Should be a steel gear. I don't believe any Ford Racing cams are flat tappet (I could be wrong, so do your research). You could also run a bronze or composite gear if you're not sure. I'm assuming the motor is currently out of the car? If so, you could always pull the cam and check it or at least pull the intake and make sure it's a roller cam.

Personally, curiosity would get the best of me and I'd pull the cam.
