1989 Convertible 3rd brake light

Hi All-
I have a 1989 LX 5.0 Convertible 5 speed... it has the 3rd brake light on the rear .. one of the bulbs burned out. I thought you just remove the two screws on the red lens and then pullit off/ out to replace. It comes somewhat loose but will not come out. Wondering does anybody know a trick on this? Thanks

Had same issue with mine. Had to actually take the complete brake light off and separate the pieces as they were fused together after never being off the car it looked like.
