Space saver spare

Hope that I've posted this in a correct forum. I have an 88 Mustang, 5.0 fastback, and I want to find out what type of space saver (15") spare was included from the factory. I've seen some that are aluminum (kind of smooth surface) and some that are steel and painted black. What years did they do the aluminum ones? Thanks in advance. Stu

So far as I know only 93 cobras had aluminum spares from the factory

The late 80'S Thunderbird Turbo Coupe also had the 15" donut aluminum spare.
