Moser 9" rear end swap.

I have 1990 LX convertible. Looking into installing a Moser 9" rear end.
Has anyone done this swap?
vs building up original 8.8? (I think all the parts are the same cost excpt for the stronger 9" housing)
My main goal 5 lug conversion (31 spline) 370:1 gears with Detroit Truetrak LS.
Car is street driven only, but...looking to modify engine to approx. 350-400HP in the future. I do like some windy roads ;-)

IMO, the 9" is too heavy for the foxbody, however it will put weight were its needed.
A well put together 8.8 is plenty strong enough, just need to pay attention to all the details. Also, adding a strutbar and/or gussets will increase axeltube rigidity.
Install new style 9" ends will delete the need for "c" clip and allow a variety of Axel diameters and brakes.

I'm right at 600hp and 650lb/ft torque through 315x17 DOT tires... Nothing broke yet and going on 250hr of sporadic, street driving and track time.

Good luck with your project!
Looking forward to reading about it.
