Winter Projects 2015-16

It's almost that time of year again. Do you all have any plans for this winter?

We should be moving into our new house in a few weeks. I'll finally have a decent garage to work in, so I've got some stuff planned. I'm working a lot more than usual, soI'm not sure how realistic these are. I'll spend most of my time off (two weeks at a time) painting, doing some repairs to the new and old homes, and of course...deer hunting. So I doubt I'll get to touch a mustang until after the first of the year.

But regardless of what's realistic, I'm planning on pulling the motor and transmission out of the 88. Install my rebuilt t5. Paint and clean up the engine bay, and freshen up the 302. A set of heads, intake, exhaust, maf swap, and a couple other things. I'll have about 4 weeks to do all that, so I doubt it will happen. But we'll see.

Oh, and I also hope to start dismantling the 82gt at some point. Oh, and I might be aquiring an 86 coupe roller to build as a drag car. I sure set my goals high, don't I? Lol. Well, let's just say I plan on hanging out in the garage quite a bit.

LOL... a decent garage.... I had one too...until I had the driveway poured.....I'm going underneath this year...scrubbing down the under carriage and going to paint on some truck bed liner and also attacking the engine bay with some detailing in mind.. had a good year with no problems to speak of with all the extra car shows we attended....last outing I filled the tank up but didn't get amy Stabil in it....nothing big other then tow new brake line at the front rotors....going with braided lines....its been 4 years since I had the front rotors off, I'll grease the bearings and check the pads for wear white I have it all apart....we're supposed to have above average temp but a few more inches of snow.....YUCK....

Well, I get off the boat for a couple weeks starting Wednesday (5 days). Haven't had time to do much at all, yet. I did get my 351w block up on a stand. Got me another stand and one of those cheap cradles so I have enough for moving motors around the garage.i got the garage organized as best as I could. Bought me a cheap rolling tool chest, big enough for the basics. So I'm ready to get started. All I'm lacking is time and money lol.

So I've decided to put the 88gt on hold for a while. It looks decent and runs ok, so I figure the best route would be to work on getting the 82gt started. The sooner I can get it running, the sooner I can have 2 cars I can shuffle in and out of the garage. Normally, this wouldn't really be an issue, but it looks like I'll be acquiring another fox. This time, a coupe roller. 1984, iirc. I purchased the other 2 from my brother-in-law, but he had 3. Spoke to him the other day and he told me if I wanted the coupe, come and get it. Here's a pic

So I thought it was an 86, but it has been so long since I've seen it, I guess I forgot.didn't pay much attention at the time. I've also decided not to build a drag car. Maybe at some point...we'll see. But for now, I think I may get her looking like a cream puff and drop a 2.3l in it...no turbo. Will I get kicked off the forum for such a travesty? Lol

I already have a transmission and rear-end. And those little motors are dependable, good mpg, and a dime a dozen. They were in foxes from 79-93, so Ford evidently did something right. I think they deserve a little love every now and then! She'll stay black with red accents and the porno red interior. I had a 79 capri with that combination years ago, and it looked great.
