My 84 Foxbody runs hot in traffic jams
Or through town on a busy day
I have a 2core be cool radiator
Changed thermostat
New water pump
15" electric fan on all the time.
It runs 160-180 degrees on the freeway .
I had it up to 130 degrees the other day in traffic
I shut it down and sat there till rush hour was over LOL
Still runs fine
I'm thinking maybe a four core?
Clutch fan? Please shoot me some
Ideas thanks

What temp is your thermostat? If it's too cold the water will not stay in the radiator long enough and start to creep in traffic.

I think its a 160?but might be 190?
I'll pull it this weekend and make sure I put a 190
Is that what you think?

If it's a 160 then yes swap it. If it's a 190 and everything that you mentioned is new or in good shape you might have a bigger problem but that's what it sounds like to me

No problem, if it's still getting hot let me know and we'll see if we can diagnose the issue

Pull the thermostat, I added some Amsoil antifreezes additive that drops the temp about 20 degrees. Your radiator might need to replaced if its the one that came with the car....Take a hose and back washed the radiator from the engine bay out. Mine was in pretty good shape, not much clogging the A/C condenser. Check to see if your fan is oem? Some aftermarket fan blades don't pull much air through the shroud...
