Ok so i need assistance making a decision. I currently have drag lites with 275/60/15 on rear and skinnys up front. I have decided to go to 17" cobra style wheels which i just picked up. I am looking at either going 245/45/17 all the way around or to stagger with 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rears. I need advise, pros, cons. My goal is to handle with no strip action. best ride and handling. 92 fox with 393 stroker, full sbr tubelars, full frame runners, torque box upgrade, coilover fronts.
Thanks

Also I am not asking if you think I should stay as is, I am making the change I just want advise on the questions.

Welcome to the site! I see you're just down the road from me. I'm just outside of Roxboro.

What width are the Cobra wheels?
Its really going to be subjective to your own personal style.
I'd prefer to go 275 on the rear if it's a 9" wide wheel. If the rear wheels are 10"/10.5" wide, then go at least 275. But a 315 will also fit.
The downside to a staggered setup will be that you will not be able to rotate the front and rear tires.
The positive will be better looking (again personal taste), better handling, and dry traction. Though the 245s can handle just as well if the suspension is relatively stock.
You will also notice that the wider tires will want to follow the "grooves" in the road more.

I just added front Lakewood coilover kit and will be install full pro series spring kit with KYB rear shocks. Also is following the grooves in the road good or bad? They are 17x9 all the way around

As by following in the "grooves of the road " you'll just feel it want to move around a little if the road is really bad. But it's nothing really too bad. You'll have way more of that if their is a considerable amount of bumpsteer from being lowered.

I run a 275/40/17 on a 17x8 cobra wheel .the tire is a BFF g2.i think I give a little as for as handling because of the width of the tire and rim.in a perfect world I would run a 17x9.5 on the rear.
I thought about having them widen to a 17x9.5 but it’s not cheap
