My 90 lx build, sn95 brake swap

Hello All,
New here, and relatively new to foxbody mustangs although they e been my favorite car since I was a kid.Ive had an sn95 so it's not a whole lot of difference from what I've seen so far...Anyways I got this car about a month ago.The interior was completely robbed except for the back seat, The plastics are pretty rough do to the previous owner( family friend).I intend to do a old school "junkyard hotrod" build, and get it back to a nice weekend street car with nitrous.Already has smog delete, underdrive pulleys, flowmaster mufflers, sub frame connectors and supposedly has summit brand steel heads.Idk how to confirm that though.I have replaced the clutch quadrant with the steeda quadrant and cable kit, fuel tank, fuel pump,Filter, Distributor cap and rotor, added a msd blaster coil and wired up a crane cams hi6s ignition box I had laying around.I got a deal on two front seats that almost match my rear and a carpet, Used an old ar15 a2 pistol grip, i made a plug for the top, epoxied a nut in it and made it into my shift knob. The fenders we're beat so I replaced both fenders and the bumper cover, and added a fiberglass cowl hood. I have the rear end out of the car and have replaced both axles with 5 lug ranger axles, Got a 94 v6 I plane on robbing the front spindles, hubs, rotors, disc brakes, and rear rotors and disc brakes off of as well as the brake booster and master cylinder. IIhave "wild rides" upper and lower battle box torque box reinforcement kit on the way. A far as suspension goes I plan on running strange 10way adjustable rear shocks, factory v8 springs, Tubular lca, boxed uppers,.The front I'm going with the matching strange struts, 4cyl springs and losing the sway bar. I welcome all advise and recommendations. This will be a slow build (3 kids) lol. Thanks for looking,

Looking great so far! That was a good idea with the ar shifter handle! I've got a collection of those, myself. Might have to try it!

Anyway, welcome to the site. Where are you from?

Great start to the project! That will make a great street ride!

It's not too far off from what I've been doing with mine. At least that's how it started. LOL

Started boxing in my upper control arms, Got one done and ran out of wire. Also installed the upper and lower torque box reinforcement plates.Once I get more wire I'll have the other uca boxed in and the plates also stitch welded in.I got the rear cleaned up and painted, and installed the poly axle housing bushings.I know it's a 50/50 love/hate opinions on them so I'ma give them a shot and see.If they do bad I'll swap them out with spherical

Got the rear completely installed with new SVE tubular control arms/bushings(ended up boxing my factory uppers for no reason lol).Installed rear BMR 1" drop springs and poly isolators as well. Also did new sn95 ball joints and sn95 spindles/hub/rotor/brakes up front with 4 cylinder front springs. This is how it sits now.Only thing left is to upgrade my shocks/struts as far as the suspension goes.Next on the list is swapping to the sn95 Brake booster and master cylinder and i have got to buy a double flaring tool so I can finish my brake lines in the rear.Ford racing adjustable prop valve and passenger adapter fitting should be in tomorrow and then my 5 lug/disc swap will be complete.

Looks good! I need some nice new coil springs for my pace car, but I'm just going to paint the old ones for now. May lower it a bit in the future. Anyway, don't toss those boxed-in uppers. A lot of folks prefer boxing them in instead of using aftermarket uppers. I'm not really sure what the reasoning is, but that's how I did on my 88gt. I just put aftermarket uppers in the pace car today, so we'll see how it does.

Yea that's what I've read as well.Ive hung onto everything so far just to have spare parts in case I ever need them.I was going with the factory v8 rear springs as well with 1 coil cut out like team z suggests.I cut a coil off and the car sat super low. After looking at the coils I cut off I realized the previous owner had already cut a coil out, so then I had 2 full coils cut lol.Sat a little too lowfor my taste so I searched and found the BMR rears for $79.(Horrible experience with American Muscle btw) ended up cancelling the order with AM after 11 days of them BSin me and getting them from Summit.

Great progress on the car.
I was going to cut one coil off my rear springs as well as per Team Z. I was even going to run 4 cylinder front springs. But that changed before it even happened. Instead I went with the Team Z rear drag springs and I'm now sitting on coilovers up front with Strange 10 way struts.
I've still got a few more pieces to get for my 5-lug swap. I'm about 75% there. Just need to get the rear axles, Line-lock, park brake cables, front wheels for the street, and all 4 wheels for the drag strip.

I've still got my factory uppers and lowers form the '93 laying around. Also I have a set from my '84 and a set from my brother's '90. I went tubular with Heim joints for the '93.

That is the exact suspension I want to do now, Originally I wanted to just do old school hotrodding tricks to it but after researching and seeing all the options it sort of changed my mind lol.Just wasn't in the budget atm due to all the little stuff the car needs..I still plan to do the Strange 10 ways outback and I've been eyeballing competition Engineering 3 way adjustable front struts.I really wanted the team z rear drag springs but the BMRs were more in my budget right now as well.Im going to ride this set up for now. I have all the e brake stuff from the 95 (handle, cables etc.) I'm going to attempt to install.I am going to cut the bracket out of the trans tunnel on the 95 and mount it in mine and see if I can get them to work(fingers crossed lol).If not I'll just do the Cobra cables and e brake handlemod..

Also Are you going aftermarket rear axles? If not I have the sn95 28 spline rear axles I'm trying to sell unless you want to retain stock fox width

Yes I'm going back with aftermarket. I'll be going with the same Strange Hy-Tuff Pro Race 31 spline Fox length axles that is in the car now, but in the 5x114 lug pattern.
Though I am tempted to step up to a 33 spline and full spool even though its way overkill at the moment.
